(New York) – Brain Fry Production’s latest short film - the campy, comic-book themed adventure - Super Grannies Bridge Club, has been named an official selection by the Action on Film International Film Festival, based in Monrovia, California, just outside LA. The film, accepted into the “Live Action Short” category, will be screened at the beautiful Krikorian Theatre on August 17, at 10pm. This will be the film’s west coast premiere, and the Brain Fry team hopes it will be the 1st of many festival screenings! Writer/director Kristen Kress said she was “extremely proud of our team! It’s such a great little film, and I’m excited to share it with audiences.” You can watch the trailer for Super Grannies on the official Super Grannies page, here: SG Trailer.

The Action on Film International Festival aims to promote artistically and culturally significant film arts through education and exhibition in an atmosphere of unity for the entire AOF family of filmmakers and writers. We do this to enrich the lives of the community, the filmmakers, and of course, the individuals who pursue careers in front of and behind the camera. By working directly with filmmakers independent of budget, origin, style or genre, we celebrate the art of film and filmmakers in addition to:

-Working collaboratively with filmmakers and producers to increase access to quality film arts, presentations, programs, and projects.

-Bringing about an understanding that Action On Film does not just mean “action films,” it means the actions a filmmaker takes to bring his or her dream to the screen and the reaction of the audiences to that work.

Any film or video that has movement, life, excitement, and fire - that is what we are looking for!

The Action On Film International Film Festival has been honored with being named “One Of The Top 25 Festivals Worth The Fee,” by MovieMaker Magazine.

Past winners of the AOF Fest include actor/writer/producer D.B. Sweeney, Harry Lennix of The Matrix and Superman: Man of Steel, undiscovered talents like Stan Harrington and Matt and Gary Scone along with hundreds of new filmmakers, writers, animators and producers. Our Lifetime Achievement and Half - Life Award winners include Kim Coates, Michael Madsen, Talia Shire, John Savage, Bill Duke, Harry Lennix, Nick Mancuso, Bill Plympton and many other top names in the industry.
