We were approached by PMI to create this animation. We worked closely with their creative director Damien D’Amico. PMI shot all the footage. The footage was backplates of the environments. We modified the truck from a stock model and used it in each shot. We had to take the back plates that were shot and modify them to create a reflection to be rendered on the truck, we also had to time the wheel speed for each shot. The simplicity the truly beautiful in the result but it was quite tedious to get there. I believe there a total of 60 shots created. Some were fully 3d (windmills). Thinking particles were used to create the lidar scans.
