Kennametal 2025

Kennametal asked Mayoflux to animate a multi-axis machining center with dozens of synchronized parts—rotary tables, tool changers, and live-tool spindles. Starting from a 20+ Power Point outline, we wrote the script, created detailed storyboards, and rebuilt the SolidWorks assembly in Cinema 4D, adding mechanical constraints for every slide and pivot.

The rigging challenge was significant. Gear ratios and stroke limits had to match real specs so Kennametal could use the video for marketing and not upset any engineers. Custom Xpresso drivers kept cams, chains, and servo arms in sync, while Redshift rendered hardened-steel shaders and oil mist without missing the delivery date. Iterative approvals with the engineering team ensured clearances and chip-flow paths stayed accurate.

The finished animation premiered at IMTS, running on a three-panel LED wall that drew steady crowds. Kennametal has since returned for additional product lines, citing the piece’s clarity and share-worthy polish. Mayoflux turns complex visuals into clear stories – let us simplify yours next.
