Kennametal challenged Mayoflux to create a cinematic open that echoes the rolling-bullet sequence from Lord of War, but in stone. Thousands of rocks pour across the frame, gradually revealing the cutting-edge tool at the heart of the story. Our team took the concept from outline to final composite, handling script refinement, asset build, and shot choreography.

Cinema 4D and Redshift provided the core pipeline, while Houdini ran a massive dynamic simulation so every stone collides realistically before settling into place. GPU instancing and level-of-detail swaps kept render times predictable without sacrificing photoreal quality. Review loops with Kennametal�s engineers ensured scale and wear patterns stayed accurate. The finished animation debuted at a trade-show keynote, drawing crowds and reinforcing Kennametal�s reputation for durability under extreme conditions.
